A large fire broke out in a South African parliament in Cape Town.
Firefighters who were present at the house as large flames and heavy smoke were seen around 5:30 GMT Sunday.
“The roof is on fire and the National Assembly building is on fire,” a city emergency spokesman told AFP, asking for help.
“The fire is not under control and cracks in the walls of the building have been reported,” he added.

There was no indication of the cause of the fire.
According to News24 reports, 36 firefighters are on the scene and authorities have requested more as they work to control the blaze.
