The Food and Drug Administration said its study confirmed that only South Korea and Taiwan branches would be able to identify customers.
McDonald’s has become the latest company to face data breaches after unauthorized incidents on its network have revealed the information of other customers in South Korea and Taiwan.
McDonald’s Corp said Friday that it quickly identified the incident and that a full investigation had taken place.
“Although we were able to close the door quickly after realizing it, our investigation has confirmed that a few files were found, some of which had personal information,” the burger group said.
McDonald’s said the study confirmed that its South Korean and Taiwan-only branches were the only ones available to customers, and that they had taken action to inform directors and potential customers. No customer information was disclosed.
McDonald said he would look into the results of the study, along with the security findings, in order to find ways to improve his security.
Merchants in various sectors are being targeted by criminals, including the most popular cases in recent weeks. On Wednesday, JBS SA, the world’s largest meat processing company, revealed that it had paid $ 11m to thieves who began using their computers last month.
Colonial Pipeline, which supplies about half of its oil used on the East Coast in the United States, last month paid a 75 per cent Bitcoin – then valued at about $ 4.4m – and hopes its machine will reintroduce the internet.
