Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will not need surgery, his doctors said, a day after the right-wing leader rushed to the hospital with a small bowel movement.

“President Jair Messias Bolsonaro’s intestinal subocclusion has been removed, with no need for surgery,” Vila Nova Star Hospital in Sao Paulo said in a statement on Tuesday.

The president posted a picture of himself on Twitter posing with his thumb on his hospital bed on Monday, his face with a tube through his nose – a container for transporting food and medicine through the stomach through his nose.

This is the second time she has been in the hospital with the same symptoms.

In July 2021, he was taken to the Vila Nova Star for a diarrhea after suffering a serious illness.

Bolsonaro has been in power since 2019 and wants to run again for the presidential election in a vote expected in October this year.
