Food prices rose sharply in 2021, reaching a record high in a decade, according to the United Nations.

As many countries pushed for a reopening of their economy last year after months of closure and tightly regulated borders, economists began to warn of an impending problem: rising food prices.

The UN Food Agency reports that prices have risen 28 percent a year very high since 2011.

In December, they relaxed a bit, but before that they were climbing for four months in a row.

The increase is exacerbated by a number of factors, including cybercrime and rising prices for raw materials and energy.
