Texas to release prisons to provide refuge for refugees | Migration Issues

This has taken place within Governor Greg Abbott’s massive efforts to stop migrants at the US-Mexico border.

The U.S. government in Texas is relocating prisoners from state prisons to accommodate refugees, say prison officials, in a concerted effort by Governor Greg Abbott to reduce Central American immigrants from Mexico.

Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) spokesman Jeremy Desel announced Thursday that prisons would begin moving prisoners from the Dolph Briscoe Unit in Dilley to other prisons.

“Texas continues to crack down on illegal immigration,” Desel said in a statement. “In an effort to address these issues, Governor Abbott is ordering state funds to arrest and detain illegal border crossings and offenders or the state.”

On Wednesday, Abbott announced that state prisons needed more accommodation for detainees.

Abbott also announced that he would spend $ 250m on state funds as “fines” for the continued construction of a wall alongside him. The Texas and Mexico border The former president is Donald Trump’s predecessor.

He also said that the remaining funds will be collected through donations and donations.

Trump has made border posts a part of his signature, saying it was necessary to prevent refugees and terrorists from coming to the US. And he said Mexico pays for the wall.

But Mexico did not pay. Instead, Trump’s administration has changed $ 16.45bn in government funds funding for unfinished construction work.

On January 20 – his first working day – Trump’s last president, President Joe Biden, ordered a wall to be erected, saying: “A large wall overlooking the entire southern border is not the answer.”

Biden’s law was first in several times addressing many of the Trump administration’s migration and establishing what Biden’s administration called humanitarian principles.

But Biden’s ideas also encouraged rushing to the southern border with tens of thousands of immigrants in the region hoping that the reduction system would give them access to the US.

Abbott’s actions could be complicated in court because the United States Supreme Court has ruled that immigration laws are the only government in the state.

However, Abbott has remained cruelly criticizing him on the management of the movement of people into and out of the Biden border. Abbott’s spokesman repeated his remarks Thursday.

“President Biden continues to ignore the problems at our southern border and its operations in our country, Texas is promoting and enforcing the law,” said Renae Eze.

Trump, Abbott and other Republicans have criticized Biden for lifting foreign sanctions on Trump’s time, saying he should increase the number of immigrants.

On Wednesday, Florida Republican Ambassador Ron DeSantis announced that his government would send police to help Texas and Arizona to relocate the migration.

Trump wants to visit Texas-Mexico borders later this month by Abbott.

“We have moved from having a secure border that envied the world to a lawless border that is now grieving around the world,” Trump said in a statement on Tuesday announcing his acceptance of Abbott’s invitation to go to the border on June 30.
