Israeli forces kill Palestinians living in the West Bank | West Bank News

The Palestinian health ministry says the man, identified as Amir Atef Reyan of Qarawet Bani Hassan, has died of his injuries.

Israeli forces have shot and killed a Palestinian man who allegedly ran at them with a knife at a West Bank bus depot, soldiers said.

According to the preliminary investigation, the man arrived at a crossroads near Ariel’s Jewish residence in a car, got out and “with a knife, ran to the bus stop where civilians and IDF soldiers were standing.”

The Palestinian health ministry identified the deceased as Amir Atef Reyan. Idati died of his injuries as a resident of Qarawet Bani Hassan, a village in Salfit in the West Bank.

Members of the Palestinian Red Crescent claimed that Israeli forces prevented their patients from approaching the young man to help him before he was transferred to the hospital.

Pictures and videos posted online showed a Palestinian man lying face down on a line near a Israeli settlement before being taken to an ambulance.

The Israeli army said it was chasing everyone in the car, who had fled.

The West Bank has seen recent violence since US-sponsored talks on the establishment of a Palestinian state with Israel were suspended in 2014.

Israel in 1967 annexed the West Bank, which Palestinians want to make a major part of their future state. About 600,000 Jewish residents they live in more than 130 places scattered throughout the confiscated area, where more than 2.5 million Palestinians live.

The people of Palestine and all other countries feel that the growth of Israeli settlements is a violation of international law that threatens to resolve bilateral disputes.
