Boeing has resumed donations to Republicans who opposed the US election | Flight Issues

As of May 3, Boeing had donated nearly $ 900,000 to political and electoral committees, including four of the 147 Republicans who voted in favor of U.S. President Joe Biden.

The Boeing Co political committee resumed granting candidates to a committee in May after a three-month hiatus, including donations to members who did not confirm the results of President Joe Biden’s 2020 elections.

The aerospace giant joined several other companies on January 13 by announcing the suspension and re-evaluation of their PAC offerings following the Jan. 6 riots by supporters of Donald Trump.

But as of May 3, Boeing has donated nearly $ 900,000 to political and aspiring committees, according to a recent report to the Federal Election Commission.

Among the lawmakers who received $ 5,000, the money that the PAC could contribute to each election, were Small House Administrator Kevin McCarthy of California, Louisiana’s Little Whip Steve Scalise and Missouri Representative Vicky Hartzler. Representative Jack Bergman, a Michigan Republican who also voted against the ticket, received $ 2,500.

All four were among 147 Republicans who voted against Biden College voting that Biden agrees with Trump’s false claims that the 2020 elections were marred by irregularities. Five people were killed as a result of a mob entering the house.

A Boeing spokesman did not send an email immediately asking for comment.

The Boeing PAC also donated $ 25,000 to the Republican Attorneys General Association. The group’s co-founder, Rule of Law Defense Fund, helped organize protests on January 6th before the riots, paying for robots to urge Trump supporters to attend the “Stop the Steal” rally.

The PAC’s largest donations went to the Republican Governors Association, which received $ 200,000, and Senate and House of Democratic and Republican party armors, each receiving $ 105,000 – money that the PAC can give to a party committee annually.

Politicians also received donations. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Whip Jim Clyburn each received $ 5,000 for their first contest, while General Steny Hoyer received $ 5,000 for his first race and $ 5,000 for the election.

The PAC and Boeing staff were the 77th largest source for campaign planning for the 2020 elections according to the Center for Responsive Politics, which analyzes political contributions. The Senate Leadership Fund, the largest PAC affiliated with Senate Youth Leader Mitch McConnell, received the most $ 790,000. Biden was second, receiving $ 726,148 followed by Trump, who received $ 602,962.
