Joel Greenberg pleads guilty to one-minute smuggling in an in-depth investigation into the actions of Attorney Matt Gaetz and the young girls.
A Florida politician who was known to be a senior in the Justice department research on prostitution to the Republican Representative Matt Gaetz on Monday pleaded guilty to six counts of conspiracy and agreed to join the opposition as part of a petition.
Joel Greenberg, a longtime ally of Gaetz, appeared in federal court in Orlando, Florida. He pleaded guilty to sixteen of the 13 charges against him, including the trafficking of a child, and admitted that he had paid one young woman to have sex with him and other men.
Gaetz, and very helpful of former President Donald Trump, has not been named in the deal or in a court hearing.
But Greenberg’s alliance – as a key investigator and Gaetz’s close ally – could exacerbate the legal and political challenges facing a Florida lawmaker.
State critics are investigating whether Gaetz and Greenberg paid for young children or gave them gifts in exchange for sex, according to two people who are familiar with the subject.
The men were aware of the study but were not allowed to discuss the study in public and spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
Investigators want to know if Gaetz had sex with a 17-year-old boy whom Greenberg accused of trafficking, according to reports by a lawyer who spoke to Reuters.
Investigators have also been looking into whether Gaetz and her colleagues had tried to find government jobs for other women, people said. He also explores Gaetz’s connection to the medical sector, including whether his allies want to support the policies that Gaetz supported.
Greenberg’s attorney general, Fritz Scheller, told reporters last month that the Greenberg affiliation with federal investigators could make sense in Gaetz.

“I hope Matt Gaetz doesn’t feel comfortable today,” Scheller said in April, after the court ruled in his favor and the signatories signed an agreement that was almost final.
Gaetz denied the allegations and any allegations of wrongdoing and said he would not resign from Congress. A spokesman said Gaetz “had never had sex with a child and had never received any money for sex”.
