The verdict, which repeals the original verdict, means that Assange is now on the verge of being released from British prison to the US.

The United States has won an appeal by Britain’s Supreme Court over the dismissal of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

Friday’s ruling, in violation of the original sentence, means Assange is now on the verge of being deported from a British prison to the US, where he would face intelligence charges for publishing WikiLeaks military intelligence documents a decade ago.

The lower court earlier this year rejected a U.S. request to extradite Assange to the US, saying Assange’s health was too weak to cope with U.S. courts.

But U.S.-based attorney James Lewis said Assange “does not have a history of serious illness and tolerance” and does not suffer from a serious illness so he cannot injure himself.
