US punishes China for violating Uighur rights | Global Trade News

The Biden government is hitting Chinese companies with export restrictions, citing national security and human rights.

The Biden government has imposed trade sanctions on several Chinese companies and corporations, citing national security and the Chinese crackdown on the Uighur minority.

The U.S. Department of Commerce said Thursday it had compiled a list of several Chinese technical companies, criticizing the government in Beijing for promoting technical analysis of Uighurs.

This move prevents companies from selling or exchanging goods with the United States.

The Department of Commerce has added the Chinese Academy of Military Medical Science and its 11 research institutes to the list of US companies and organizations that regulate exports.
