Beijing affiliated with Cathay Pacific competes for $ 1.8b of flight | The plane

The Greater Bay Airlines Airlines has revealed plans to fly to 104 locations in China and Asia.

A new flight from Hong Kong connected to Beijing intends to import at least 30 jets from Boeing Co. or Airbus SE as it tries to establish itself in a market controlled by Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd.

Greater Bay Airlines, which is awaiting final approval to operate a commercial airliner from Hong Kong, is considering whether to choose jets for the Boeing 737 Max 10 or Airbus A321neos, an expert said. Such a plan could cost about $ 1.77 billion, according to a study by Bloomberg News and Avitas Inc. using modern aircraft prices.

The carrier, appointed by cargo manager Bill Wong, is in talks with Boeing and Airbus, according to a man who requested anonymity. The timing and size of the system depends on the status of the Covid-19 in Hong Kong, the man said.

“We will continue to review our aircraft that we need to meet customer needs and our way of growing the market,” said Jodie Lai, chief marketing officer at Greater Bay Airlines, via email.

An Airbus spokesman said the company had not commented on the flight talks. A Boeing attorney declined to comment.

The system of seeking fame

The Greater Bay Airlines Airlines has planned to fly to 104 locations in China and most parts of Asia, even though its Hong Kong base follows a strong Covid-Zero route that threatens to disband the city as a capital and has departed. Cathay is walking.

The pilot received a pilot’s certificate in October, which enabled him to fly cargo and freight planes. It can initiate commercial transport operations after regulators have approved a pilot’s license.

Boeing’s new system, which could see its 737 Max aircraft return to the sky in China this month after a nearly three-year suspension, could help it reach Hong Kong, where Airbus controls the one-way market. Airbus’ success could help a European manufacturer expand that direction.

Greater Bay Airlines has a Boeing 737-8 charter flight. Donghai Airlines, its sister border crossing in Shenzhen, operates all Boeing aircraft. Wong is also the founder of Donghai Airlines. He is a member of China’s largest political advisory body, China People’s Political Consultative Conference.
