A former Hollywood lawyer has been sent to California despite the need for lawyers in New York.

Former filmmaker Harvey Weinstein could be was sent to California from New York to look into cases of rape and torture, a New York judge ruled Tuesday.

Erie Court Judge Kenneth Case denied Weinstein’s lawyer’s claim that Weinstein’s travel documents were invalid, and that Weinstein should stay in New York to receive appropriate medical treatment.

Fox News quoted Colleen Gable’s Erie County attorney general as saying, “It’s Los Angeles. It’s not a remote area without medical care.”

“We are disappointed with the judge’s decision,” Mark Werksman, Weinstein’s lawyer, told Reuters in an email.

“We are appealing his decision in New York and have filed a petition with the habeas corpus in the Los Angeles Supreme Court to prevent the District Attorney in Los Angeles from taking Weinstein to Los Angeles until he receives the medical treatment he wants in New York,” Werksman added.

The Attorney General’s Office in Los Angeles County could not be reached for comment.

The charges against Weinstein in California for the abuse of five women from 2004 to 2013 in the Los Angeles area.

He is charged with 11 counts of burglary in Los Angeles on four counts of rape, four counts of rape, two counts of burglary and one count of obstruction of justice.

Weinstein is serving a 23-year sentence following him February February 2020 in Manhattan for raping a worker in 2006 and a third rape of aspirants to stay in 2013.

His determination seemed like great success on the #MeToo group, which wants strong men to be held accountable for sexual misconduct, including sexual violence.

Weinstein has denied sexual intercourse with anyone.

More than 100 women, many from films, he says Weinstein’s sexual misconduct. Many argue that there is more that needs to be done to address sexual harassment on behalf of professionals.
