Hasan al-Attar stood silently inside the mortuary, looking at the bodies of his daughter, Lamya, and three other children of the same family. Dressed in a firefighter’s robe, he bent down to kiss his daughter good-bye before closing the refrigerator door.
“Pray for her,” said her friend, holding her hand on Hasan’s shoulder.
Lamya and the children – their brothers Amir and Islam al-Attar – and Mohammed al-Attar were killed Friday night in Beit Lahia, when an Israeli plane bombed the house where they live.
The northern town of the Gaza Strip, along with Beit Hanoun and Jabalya, is one of the areas that has seen temporary air explosions combined with large-scale artillery shelling. Shuja’iah, located east of Gaza City, was also beaten.
A spokesman for the Israeli army said the Friday before the strike included 160 fighter jets that took off from six buses and used 450 explosives and ammunition to fire 150 targets within 40 minutes.
Jonathan Conricus said the plot was aimed at destroying “underground canals” in Gaza.
But Abedrabbo al-Attar, a resident of Beit Lahia, told Al Jazeera that the terrorists were attacking civilians.
“We left our house screaming as we left the house [that Lamya and the children were in] next to us was destroyed, ”the 40-year-old six-year-old said.
“We thought we were going to die. There were no militants in the area, and Israel detonated every bomb, leaving more than 50 standing. ”
Al-Attar said his family and his brother’s family walked 8km (4 miles) before reaching UNRWA School opposite Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
“Our children slept on the floor,” he said. “We have not taken anything, and we do not know if our house still exists.”
Many families from the northern towns of Gaza have also migrated. At the Abraj al-Nada home, the families were unable to evacuate due to a major fire and appealed to the Red Cross for help.
“This is the worst battle I’ve ever had in my life, and I’ve seen a few of them,” Att-Attar said. “It’s been very cruel.”

According to Gaza’s health ministry, 119 Palestinians have been killed so far, including 31 children and 19 women. At least 830 others have been injured.
Israeli health officials say 1,050 rockets have been fired from Gaza so far. Eight Israelis and one Indian citizen have been killed, and more than 130 injured.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed that the violence will continue “until the need to restore order in Israel”.
Elias Karram of Al Jazeera said most of the Israeli tanks went to the Gaza Strip on Thursday and are now about a mile from Israel’s fence.
Karram also said that the Israeli army had recruited 16,000 soldiers and detained them.

The rising dawn on the Gaza Strip led to many people saying goodbye on TV. A major cut crossed Gaza City during the Israeli occupation.
Diaa Wadi, a resident of Shujaiyah, wrote about her difficulties online.
“Hello world,” he said he wrote one time. “My family and I are in danger of being bombed by Israeli missiles and warplanes.
“We’ve shared one room,” he continued. “Each one of us is holding a briefcase, and our papers and other belongings are in sight. Now the fear is with us. This is the most difficult and difficult time of my life. ”
Two hours later, after the threats were over, Wadi said he wanted to see them in the morning.
“Even if we never see the sun again, we are all in Jerusalem,” he said.
‘Not completely lost’
In Beit Hanoun, the entire settlement was destroyed by an air raid. One of the Palestinians living in the area, Mohammed al-Zoni, told Al Jazeera that about 30 homes had been destroyed.
“Everything related to life has been destroyed,” he said. “Cars, carts, fields… everything.”

Al-Zoni said it was by God’s grace that no one was killed, because the families fled when the riots began.

On Wednesday night, Rafat Tanani and his family were killed in an Israeli attack on the Sheikh Zared area in northern Gaza. He and his wife Rawya, 36, who were pregnant, and their children Ismail, Adham, Amir, and Mohammed – all under the age of 8 – were placed alive under the rubble.

“It would not be fair if Israel attacked civilian homes and killed children and evacuated people,” Rafat’s brother Jameel told Al Jazeera. “What we are experiencing now is much worse than the filth in 2014.
