At Sheikh Jarrah on Sunday evening, police brought a carrying crane to protect the concrete barriers in its place, blocking the entrance to the exit area and the nearby tomb known as the tomb of Simon the Righteous, a former Jewish high priest.

Israel annexed East Jerusalem during the 1967 Middle East war and annexed it in a way that was not accepted around the world.

East Jerusalem is one of the areas where Palestine is looking for a future country. Israel sees Jerusalem as its capital – an unknown foreign power.
