JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israel’s main hospital begins offering the fourth COVID-19 vaccine to 150 workers on Monday in a case that seeks to determine whether second-rate interest is a national priority, the site said Sunday.

Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv said its attempt to highlight the fourth level of power and help decision-makers establish health policies in Israel and abroad.

Israel has reported 1,118 confirmed cases of Omicron coronavirus infection, double the number of people infected with the virus every two days.

A team of experts from the Ministry of Health has recommended giving the fourth level of Pfizer (NYSE 🙂 / BioNTech vaccine for Israel over 60 years and older who received an extra shot four months ago.

But the prime minister’s final approval is still pending as people argue that if there is enough scientific knowledge that could lead to a new impetus.

Sheba Medical Center did not say how long her case would last.

“We will look at how the fourth level affects the amount of antibodies and infections and we will look at its immunity,” said Gili Regev-Yochay, the study’s lead author. “We understand if it’s worth a fourth shot, and for whom.”

The medical staff of Sheba 150 participants in the case, who the hospital said had received the approval of the Ministry of Health, fired less than Aug 20.

Separately, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said he tested Sunday on COVID-19 after his 14-year-old daughter became ill. He said he had separated himself.
