Novak Djokovic leaves ATP Cup in Sydney | Tennis stories

The announcement of the developers comes amid speculation that a Serbian tennis player should be vaccinated ahead of the Australian Open.

Tennis player Novak Djokovic has been ruled out of the ATP Cup in Sydney, with doubts about his vaccination and defense of the Australian Open next month.

“World No.1 Novak Djokovic is out in the 2022 ATP Cup,” the organizers said in a statement Wednesday, before the game kicks off on Saturday.

There has been a lot of skepticism about the participation of the Serbian hero in all of this. A 34-year-old boy, who repeatedly refused to be offered the COVID-19 vaccine, last month reiterated his views on the right to choose to take the vaccine.

Tennis Australia, organizers of the Australian Open, which kicks off on January 17, has stated that all participants should receive a coronavirus vaccine or not be hospitalized by an independent panel of experts.

Djokovic has won nine Australian Open titles, including the last three, and is in three of the top 20 titles with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Srdjan’s father told a Serbian television station last month that Djokovic might be stepping down from a senior position, saying Tennis Australia’s performance on the official vaccine is tantamount to “infidelity”.

As a result of Djokovic’s international role, Serbia received the most money in the 16-team ATP Cup, which will run until January 9, and was placed in Group A along with Norway, Chile and Spain when the shooting took place this month.

“The Serbian team will now be led by the world’s 33rd number, Dusan Lajovic,” said the organizers, adding that “Austin Krajicek of Team USA has also seceded, and will not be replaced.”

The opening season also saw Austria, who failed to qualify following the removal of Dominic Thiem and Dennis Novak, replace France.

Russia, who won last year, will miss Andrey Rublev and Aslan Karatsev. Evgeny Karlovskiy will instead join the team.
