Russia is ‘monitoring security measures’, a Kremlin spokesman said in response to Ukraine’s crisis.
Moscow has also refused to ban troops from Cuba and Venezuela disputes with the West in Ukraine simmer, saying “I’m investigating options” to ensure Russia’s security.

Russian-Belarus military experiments
Peskov’s comments came as Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko confirmed Monday that Russia and Belarus would be involved in military training next month.
Lukasjenko said the exercises in the southern and western border of Belarus are in line with what he is said to be doing to the Ukrainian, Polish and Baltic forces – Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia – near the border of his country.
He added that there are currently more than 30,000 troops stationed near the Belarus border.
“These must be exercises to create a specific order against these forces: the west [the Baltics and Poland] and in the south [Ukraine], ”The state news agency BELTA quoted Lukashenko.
Attempts at diplomacy are unsuccessful
Monday’s incident added to fears that a possible end to the conflict in Europe, with Russia’s recent military presence near the Ukrainian border, disrupting Kyiv and its Western allies.
Russia, which annexed Ukraine’s Crimea Peninsula in 2014 and has been accused of inciting war against Russia in the east, has denied plans to invade neighboring Russia.
