More than 300 Afghans have fled to Tajikistan as Taliban leave | Taliban Stories

At least 347 Afghan refugees have flown through Central Asia in Tajikistan in two days, fleeing the huge profits of Taliban fighters as foreign troops withdrew.

State spokesman Khovar, citing Tajikistan’s border guards, said Wednesday that refugees had “fled the Taliban to save their lives”, adding that two children had died while crossing the border.

The militants in recent weeks have taken over large areas of the country in their hands when foreign troops crashed.

In June, he arrested Afghan authorities Alireza Talischi crossing the border with Tajikistan in northern northern Afghanistan about 50km (30 miles) from Kunduz city.

On Wednesday, he said he crossed the line Spin Boldak border with Pakistan.

Afghanistan’s interior ministry, however, insisted that the militants were outraged and that government forces were monitoring them.

Tajikistan says refugees, with about 64 boys and 113 girls, passed through the Badakhshan region of Afghanistan, bringing with them large herds of animals.

“Tajik border guards, guided by human principles and good relations, have allowed Afghan refugees to enter,” Khovar said in a statement.

He also said that a group of Afghan people are sleeping in two places in the Murghab mountain range east of the former Soviet Union.

Border guards said they had seized more than 3.5kg (7.7 pounds) of drugs from Afghans who had passed through Tajikistan.

The refugees brought with them animals, including 300 yaks, three camels and 30 horses.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Kremlin’s envoy to Tajikistan, Zamir Kabulov, told Russian RIA Novosti that Moscow was “closely monitoring” the situation on the border between Afghanistan and Central Asia.

Also on Wednesday, foreign ministers from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) urged Afghanistan parties to end the violence and begin future peace talks in the country.

In a joint statement after a meeting held in Tajik capital, Dushanbe, foreign ministers of the SCO expressed their concern over the number of terrorists and militias in the north of the country.

“One of the most important things in maintaining and strengthening security and stability in the SCO area is the early implementation of what has happened in Afghanistan,” the ambassadors said.

He also called on the Afghan government to step up its efforts to restore peace, economic development, and to combat “terrorism” and drug trafficking.

India’s Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said on Twitter: “The world opposes violent and coercive abduction. It will not allow this.”
