Inter Milan’s first team game since 2010 has been with Juventus in England for 9 years.
Inter Milan have won their Serie A Cup for the first time in 11 years to end Juventus’ nine-year reign in Italy.
Antonio Conte’s opponents played their 19th “Scudetto” on Sunday after the closest players to Atalanta played 1-1 at Sassuolo leaving the “Nerazzurri” 13 points clear with four games remaining.
Conte, who made history for Juventus – won the first three titles in a series that ran from 2012 to 2020 – took over Inter in 2019 and lifted the trophy after finishing second last season.
Conte recalls: “I was shocked.
“We are breaking kings. Even in my worst dreams I never thought we would take a lot of positions in the team that dominated Serie A for nine years in two days. ”
Inter are now second in Italy in the league, one ahead of AC Milan 18, but left with Juventus’ 36.
‘Italian Leaders’
The city of Milan began to sound the trumpets of the final whistle when it was confirmed that Inter were experts, with four games to spare, and fans immediately began to gather in the main square in front of the main church to celebrate.
Hundreds of Nerazzurri fans gathered in the Piazza Duomo, with flags and handkerchiefs, chanting and singing as they jumped and clapped indiscriminately against the coronaviruses. Almost all of them were wearing masks but most were pulled under their straps.
“We are, yes, we are. Leaders in Italy. “We can scream, we can dream, we can hide in our hearts, we can use it as a precious dream that we did not want to lose,” he read a long statement on the Inter website.
Juventus president Andrea Agnelli congratulated his Inter teammate Steven Zhang on his victory over the Chinese club.
“Well done Steven! Happy for you and proud to be your most loyal enemy right now and your best friend right away. We will be back, ”Agnelli wrote on Twitter.
Lombardy’s side have not won Serie A since Jose Mourinho played in the Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia in 2010.
Their last trophy was the Coppa Italia in 2011 and they missed the Champions League for six seasons before Luciano Spalletti did not return them to the top European competition in 2018.
Conte is the 13th coach since Mourinho sat on the Nerazzurri bench and the club has changed hands twice in the last ten years.
Billionaire Massimo Moratti, whose family oversees the Italian oil refiner Saras Group, was sold to the Consortium under the auspices of Indonesian businessman Erik Thohir in 2013, while Chinese electricity supplier Suning Holdings Group took a major stake in 2016.
This is the first time an Italian team has won a league title.
