Thousands of Iraqi military allies Hashd al-Shabi gathered on Tuesday in Baghdad to mourn the deaths of American airstrikes on the Syrian border.

Ahmad al-Maqsusi – the commander of Sayid al-Shuhada’s army, who has promised an “open war” with US troops – said it was time for the United States to leave.
“The fact that parliament has ruled the presence of foreign troops in the country is illegal,” al-Maqsusi said. “He has been around since 2014 and has done nothing to the people of Iraq but to destroy it.”
Several Hashd officials took part in the symbolic funeral, including their leader Faleh al-Fayyadh and Hadi al-Ameri, the head of one of the largest groups, the Badr Organization.
The mourners, along with trucks loaded with guns, were dressed in black and carried placards reading: “Hashd threats should hasten the departure of American troops from Iraq.”
Others carried photos of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and his deputy Hashd Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis leader was killed in a US drone boycott near Baghdad airport last year.
“Guns and anti-drones are on the move. It is time to avenge the death of our heroes Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis,” said fighter Haydar Karrar.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Monitor reports that seven militants have been killed and at least six wounded in fighting on both sides of the Iraqi-Syrian border.
Hashd, whose leaders are mostly backed by Tehran and who have been selling power in Baghdad, said the four militants were killed in Qaim near the border.
The military was there to prevent armed groups from entering Iraq, the group said, adding that it had taken part in any action against US interests or its allies. He warned that he had “the right to respond … and to prosecute the authorities in Iraq”.
‘Multiple rocket attacks’
The Pentagon said the militants hit checkpoints and weapons depots in two parts of Syria and one in Iraq, all near the border, used by soldiers carrying out military demonstrations against U.S. interests in Iraq.
U.S. troops later “were fired by several rockets” in eastern Syria, but no casualties and allies “fired anti-rocket launchers,” union spokesman Wayne Marotto said on Twitter.
U.S. troops in Iraq, where 2,500 American troops have been deployed as part of an international alliance to fight ISIL (ISIS), have been threatened more than 40 this year.
Monday’s attack has been the second most dangerous attack on Iran since US President Joe Biden took office.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken has announced that US anti-Iran militants in Iraq and Syria have sent a “strong message” to stop the US military crackdown on Iraq.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi criticism the terrorists such as “violating the rights of Iraq and the security of the Iraqi state” and warning of any escalation.
Iraq’s security adviser Qassem al-Araji said al-Kadhimi would discuss the availability of US troops with US President Joe Biden.
