Iran nuclear talks begin again on December 27 | Stories

The EU foreign ministry said the summit would be attended by delegates from China, France, Germany, Russia, the UK and Iran.

Negotiations to renew the 2015 nuclear deal signed between Iran and the world powers will begin on Monday in the Austrian city, officials said.

The announcement came on Thursday amid warnings that the treaty would end in a matter of weeks if Iran continued to pursue nuclear activities as it has been doing since 2019, a year after the United States left and imposed sanctions on Iran.

“Vienna is set to resume on Monday, December 27th. The JCPOA Joint Commission is meeting to discuss the future,” European Union ambassador Enrique Mora tweeted, citing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

“It is important to make an effort to deal with major challenges and move forward, working together with the US. Welcome to round 8.”

Negotiations resumed in November after five months of trying to restore the treaty, which was a relief to Iran in exchange for its nuclear weapons. The seventh season ended last week, while others low benefits it was said.

Reports indicate that the participants – Iran, China, Russia, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom who participated in the negotiations, including the US participating in the process – are nearing the end of the new agreement, including material from the terms reached. the end of the sixth round in June with new ideas, led by President Ebrahim Raisi, released as two documents earlier this month.

Iran has demanded that all sanctions, which were imposed as part of a US “crackdown” campaign, be lifted – a role that Western allies regard as successful.

Iran also wants time to confirm the lifting of sanctions, and confirms that the US will never relinquish the treaty – it wants to show it as a third party when the first two are agreed.

Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s top envoy to the talks, said Thursday that while it is “not a habit to do big business” during the holidays, the resumption of negotiations indicates an immediate agreement to restore the agreement.

The European Union (EU) has announced that the conference will be attended by delegates from China, France, Germany, Russia, Britain and Iran.

“Participants will continue to discuss the prospect of the United States’ return to the JCPOA and how they can ensure that the agreement is properly implemented by all parties,” the External Action Service said.

U.S. spokesman Rob Malley on Tuesday warned of a “crisis period” if negotiations failed to restore order.

Iran maintains a nuclear program and is keen to develop nuclear weapons, but Western countries say the amount of uranium enriched beyond that could be used to make nuclear weapons.
