Investigate China’s leading ultramarathon leading to arrest, suicide | Another Story

Investigators say the disaster was a public safety incident caused by bad weather and an idle organization.

China has punished at least 27 government officials who appear to have killed the victims of the ultramarathon last month, People’s Daily reported on Friday, as the government confirmed the death of a government official.

Twenty-two people have died of hypothermia as the cold season dropped abruptly during a state-of-the-art 100km (62-mile) state race on May 22 in the strong western part of Gansu.

It was one of the most dangerous sports in the world in recent history.

According to reports from the Gansu government, at least five workers in the region have been arrested.

The Jingtai district commissioner, where the contest was taking place, was also removed from his post, People’s Daily report, based on a report by investigators.

The other activists accused were the mayor and the Communist Party leader in Baiyin, Jingtai.

The punishments imposed on the supervisors included extensive reading and warning.

Li Zuobi, Jingtai’s party chief, also collapsed in his home on June 9 and died, state media reported, adding that police had stopped the killings while Li’s death was being investigated.

Authorities had predicted the death of Li, which led people to believe it was linked to the investigation into the murder.

The researchers said the ultramarathon disaster was a public safety problem caused by bad weather including hurricanes, torrential rains and extreme temperatures, as well as organizations and poor performance.

China’s sports regulators said last week it suspended all dangerous games without regulators, regulations and safety standards.

These activities have been suspended with a combination of mountain and desert sports, wing wings and long distance running.
