Narendra Modi’s Twitter account, with over 73 million followers, was hijacked.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter account has “been briefly disrupted,” the prime minister’s office said.

Titi, who was quickly removed from his mainstay @narendramodi, announced that India had taken Bitcoin as a legitimate alternative and was distributing cryptocurrency to its citizens.

A Twitter spokesman said in a statement sent to Reuters that the company had done everything necessary to protect the account which had been compromised as soon as it became aware of the incident. An investigation revealed that there were no indications of any other accounts involved, the spokesman added.

Modi’s account was hacked earlier in September 2020, when hackers asked several followers of tweets to donate money to the India National Relief Fund through cryptocurrency.

Several Twitter accounts a celebrities were robbed in July 2020, including U.S. Deputy President Joe Biden, former US President Barack Obama and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and were used to call for digital currency.

Two teenagers and a 22-year-old were case and robbery, according to the US Department of Justice.

After hacking employee information and accessing Twitter, hackers were able to track down other employees with account support tools, the company said.

The hackers caused fake tweets to be sent on July 15 from the accounts of Obama, Biden, Musk and billions of other professionals including Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. Celebrities Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, were also abducted.

The tweets offered $ 2,000 for every $ 1,000 sent to an anonymous Bitcoin address.
