The variety, first known in Europe, is now found in the Indian state of Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh, the ministry of medicine says.

India has announced a new version of the coronavirus that worries about a dozen people found across the country.

AY.1, known as Delta Plus and the first known in Europe, has been found in at least 22 cases in Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh, India’s medical ministry said on Tuesday.

The ministry said Delta Plus had shown resilience and advised the three countries to increase their efforts.

“Based on the latest findings from INSACOG (Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomic Consortia), the medical ministry has warned and warned Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh of Delta Plus differences to COVID-19 found in these countries,” he said.

INSACOG is a coalition of Indian medical and scientific organizations, including the Indian Council of Medical Research and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.

The Consortium is responsible for not only introducing the virus, but also making timely contributions to appropriate national health responses for international approval.

Based in New Delhi, Elizabeth Puranam of Al Jazeera said Indian health officials have acquired three Delta Plus models.

The Delta Plus genus was developed as a result of mutations in the Delta gene or genus B.1.617.2, which was first discovered in India and is believed to be the main cause of the virus in the country.

Health experts have warned that Delta Plus diversity could trigger the third COVID-19 wave in India.

Meanwhile, the country on Wednesday reported 50,848 reports of a new Coronavirus and 1,358 people dying in the past 24 hours, Health Ministry data showed. The total number of diseases in South Asia now exceeds 30 million and the death toll is 390,660.

“If there is any good news in India by now, the second wave that killed more than 180,000 people, most of them in April and May, has ended and the number of cases has dropped,” Puranam said.

20% of US diseases

India’s health ministry also said Delta Plus diversity has also been found in at least nine countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, Russia, India, Portugal, Switzerland, Nepal and China.

The Delta virus type coronavirus now represents more than 20 percent of the disease in the U.S. in the past two weeks, or twice as much as it was when the Centers for Disease Control reported a separate outbreak.

Dr Anthony Fauci, a well-known infectious disease specialist in the country, has warned that the US could follow the UK approach, where diversity has been exacerbated by the rapid spread among young people.

Fauci says it shows that the COVID-19 vaccine remains effective against these differences.

The changes account for half of new infections in states including Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.
