Germany beat Portugal to raise the Euro hope while France did | Euro2020 News

Germany bounced back from their Euro 2020 campaign and opened Group F with a 4-2 win over Portugal in Munich on Saturday, when French international champions were forced to make a draw with Hungary.

At the end of Saturday, Robert Lewandowski’s second-half defense of Poland drew 1-1 with Spain in Seville, forcing the players to complete second consecutive rounds in Group E as the second round of the competition drew to a close.

France’s 1-1 draw with Hungary in Budapest and Germany’s victory means that there is a lot to play in the final Group F final on Wednesday when the Germans host Hungary and France face Portugal.

Germany created more chances compared to Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat by France, while Portugal lost their temper in their 3-0 win over Hungary the same day.

Germany came close to completing their fifth goal when Havertz’s successor Leon Goretzka was sacked after a series of attacks.

This is the first time Portugal have conceded four goals since losing 4-0 to Germany at the 2014 World Cup.

Hungary holds France

Earlier in the day France, fans ahead of the game, were held hostage by Hungary in the heat and in front of a crowd of about 56,000 in Budapest, they had to step back to draw 1-1.

At the only Euro 2020 facility without restrictions due to COVID-19, Attila Fiola offered the opportunity to receive visitors during the first suspension after defending security in France.

But Antoine Griezmann, winner of the Golden Boot at Euro 2016, equalized in the 66th minute as the unsatisfied France avoided their first defeat of the tournament since June 2019.

Spain is fighting Poland
