France and Qatar worked together to provide humanitarian assistance by shipping medical supplies, food and winter supplies to Kabul.

France has fled the operation in Afghanistan, taking 258 Afghan and 11 French nationals, another 60 Dutch and an unknown number of foreign diplomats, a French Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Friday.

The project was organized with support from Qatar, a ministry report said.

The refugees also included vulnerable Afghan people, such as journalists and civilians in France, as well as civilian personnel recruited by French troops.

As of September 10, at least 110 French and 396 Afghans have been evacuated from Afghanistan on 10 planned visits with the help of Qatar, the statement added.

France and Qatar jointly worked to provide humanitarian assistance on Thursday, providing medical supplies, food and supplies in the winter to international organizations working in the country with Qatari warplanes, a French Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) this week outlined Afghanistan’s progress in the next 13 months.

Afghanistan is facing a sharp decline in international aid assistance after the Taliban seized power in August, and UNDP predicts that poverty will be almost universal by 2022.
