Great results

This is Italy’s last 10th major league (six international cups and four euros), with Germany (14) the only one to play in Europe.

This will be the first time England has made a final appearance in the Euro and the first time in the tournament since they won the 1966 World Cup – the longest (55-year-long) gap between the major competitions (World Cup or Euro) for any European nation.

Italy have never lost against England in a major tournament.

The Azzurri won 1-0 at Euro 1980, 2-1 at the World Cup in 1990 and 2014 and won 4-2 on penalties at Euro 2012 after the match.

Italy were undefeated in their last 33 games in all competitions (27 wins, six wickets), scoring 86 goals and conceding 10 in their run. This is their longest list ever missed.

England won 15 games in the last 17 games at Wembley (one draw, one defeat), scoring 46 goals and conceding five. They did not win in their last 12 games in all competitions (11 wins, one shot).

No team has won two kickouts in the same Euro match.
