Elizabeth Holmes: The rise and fall of founder Theranos | Crime Stories

A judge in the United States has found Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes guilty of conspiracy to defraud investors by starting a blood test, and finding him guilty of four of the 11 cases.

Holmes, 37, has been charged with felony criminal mischief for firing on a sculpture with a shotgun, according to Flathead County, Washington. He denied that he was innocent.

2003

Holmes, who was only 19 years old, left Stanford University to establish Real-Time Cures, a company that would eventually become Theranos. They dream of changing the diagnosis of the disease.

October 2015

The Wall Street Journal reports that Theranos uses its technology on only a few tests, and staff members question its accuracy.

The FDA later released the findings that the company had used illegal drugs in testing.

January 2016

The US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released a report stating that one of the company’s facilities has a “health and safety risk profile for patients.”

The commission said the inspection showed that the site did not meet its own operational standards, including poor testing of equipment.

June 2016

Walgreens ends his relationship with Theranos.

October 2016

Partner Fund Management, which invested nearly $ 100 million in Theranos, is suing the company for security fraud, alleging that it lied to its experts to protect the funds. Then the case will be settled.

April 2017

Theranos has reached an agreement with CMS to ban the blood test business for two years.

The judges are hearing closed disputes from all sides.

January 3, 2022

Holmes was found guilty of three counts of conspiracy to commit felony criminal mischief and conspiracy to commit felony criminal mischief. He was acquitted of three counts of kidnapping patients who paid for tests from Theranos, as well as a similar conspiracy.

The judges were unable to reach a verdict on three charges involving depositors. Judgment day was not immediately set. He has spent 80 years in prison after being sentenced by US Regional Judge Edward Davila but will likely receive a lesser sentence.
