Sokolka, Poland Conflicts have broken out on the Polish-Belarusian border between refugees who are missing and Polish border guards.

The riots took place on Tuesday morning, when missing refugees across the Kuźnica border were reportedly stoning Polish guards.

The guards responded with water cannons and tear gas to those who had been trying to cross the border, according to Poland’s security ministry.

The Polish Ministry of Defense stated: “Immigrants attacked our soldiers and guards with stones and wanted to force the fence to reach Poland.

“Our soldiers used tear gas to stop the atrocities of the immigrants.”

It is not known if there were any casualties among the refugees, when one police officer was injured.

The Polish army reported: “Immigrants have been gathered at the Kuźnica border crossing on the Belarus border. New groups, which so far have been in the frontier, are joining. Trying to cross the line forcefully is getting you ready. Everything is under the control of the Belarussian military. ”

Earlier in the day, several Polish police and security forces arrived at the border to block what Polish officials said was an illegal attempt by immigrants to cross the Polish – and EU – border.

Thousands of refugees and internally displaced persons are stranded between the Polish-Belarus border and the East-West geopolitical crisis between Warsaw and its allies with Minsk and Moscow.

Under international law, asylum seekers have the right to seek and escape across borders.

However, Polish border guards have been denying such freedom to many asylum seekers who have tried to cross the border.

Since the outbreak in August, Polish security forces have been pushing back for those who could cross the Polish territory from Belarus.

Many refugees spend several weeks in the jungle blocking the border, trying to cross the border and seeking refuge.

Polish officials have enacted a law that allows people to suffer, even though the practice is still questionable under international law.

In addition, the border area has been identified as an emergency situation which means it is impossible for journalists and non-governmental organizations who are unable to collect information or provide humanitarian assistance.
