Officials say ‘all divisions and departments’ should contribute to financial stability before a Communist party conference.
Ensuring China’s economy remains stable before the 10-year-old Communist Party’s summit is “important,” the top decision maker says, marking a major part of the ceremony this year.
“All regions and all departments must take responsibility for the development of the economy,” Han Wenxiu, the party’s deputy minister of finance and finance, wrote in the state’s Outlook Weekly on Tuesday.
Officials need to put in place policies to support that goal, he wrote, being cautious about the potential for decline. Han also called for increased funding, so that the construction work could be “properly carried out.”
Advertisers have been selling Chinese government bonds since the Han issue was released in the hope that the money would boost the economy and inflate prices. Yields on records that have been trending over the past decade have raised 3 points in the last two quarters to 2.82%, which is much higher than one week.
‘Most Important’
Leaders of the one-party party in China are keen to ensure that there is no wrongdoing before the congressional meeting, which usually takes place in the autumn. President Xi Jinping is expected to use the occasion to complete his third term after assuming the status quo with Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping, men who ruled Asia until his death.
Xi last week told the 25-member Politburo that “its main task” is now to prepare for the meeting, according to Xinhua News Agency.
A few days later, Foreign Minister Wang Yi told the country’s ambassadors that the “main theme” of their work this year would be to ensure that the weather is peaceful and that it does not endanger any danger.
Li Zhanshu, chairman of the parliamentary committee, described the upcoming meeting as “very important and very important” and said legislators should show the results before that, Xinhua said.
