The EU has already relied on the US and NATO, but the phones are growing to match the European military capabilities.
The idea of common security has been at odds between European leaders – the bloc has already relied on NATO-United States allies to engage in war.
But after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan this year, and in the wake of the mass exodus, questions arose about the European Union’s ability to run its own defense system.
On Monday, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was the most recent summit in Europe when he held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at a summit of East European leaders.
But can Europe still be without NATO and the US?
