The 25-year-old is the first Australian woman to win the Wimbledon women’s title in 41 years.
World champion Ash Barty became the first Australian woman to win Wimbledon single 41 years on Saturday when she defeated Czech Karolina Pliskova 6-3 6-7 (4) 6-3 in the final.
Barty, 25, who won his Grand Slam title at Roland Garros in 2019, imitated his icon Evonne Goolagong who reiterated her second history at All England Club in 1980.
“I believe I made Evonne proud,” Barty said in court after handing over the cup. “This is amazing.”
Ten years after winning the girls’ championship at Wimbledon at the age of 15, Barty made his final appearance on Saturday after winning five of the seven matches played by Pliskova.
In the first half, he paused to take the lead 4-0 against the world first and rested twice.
Pliskova reappeared at sea against the Australian-dominated territories and hit hard but managed to get back into the race by regaining his career twice. But a third job offer gave Barty his first chance.
The Australian continued to bolster the second half, breaking the third game to open 3-1 but Pliskova found the back of the net 3-3.
It was Barty who took part in the game Pliskova, who rested from 40-0, came back immediately to force a tie and then had the courage to complete the game 1-1.
The Australian was able to regroup and jumped 3-0 on points in a quick pick, which he achieved.
Barty reversed his first half when Pliskova made an unforgettable mistake, 32 in the game.

The Australian knelt down and burst into tears, saying he could not remember what had happened at the game.
“He brought out my best today,” Barty added.
“I was proud to be able to advance to the first round of the third round. It took me a while to say I wanted to win this race, but it’s better than I thought.
“I didn’t sleep last night … but I stay home in the yard.”
