Al Jazeera condemns Israeli torture and arrest of his journalist | Freedom of the Press

The media network is protesting the arrest of Givara Budeiri, saying it was ‘following in the footsteps’ of its journalists in violation of ‘all international conventions’.

Al Jazeera News Channel journalist Givara Budeiri was brutally imprisoned and the Israeli army during a protest rally in East Jerusalem for Sheikh Jarrah. Al Jazeera is backing the Israeli government for a better life and wants an immediate release. Al Jazeera cameraman Nabil Mazzawi’s camera was also damaged by Israeli authorities.

Commenting on the arrests, Dr Mostefa Souag, director of the Al Jazeera Media Network, said: “We condemn the aggression of the Israeli military. Givara Budeiri and Nabil Mazzawi are violating the fundamental human rights of the press. ”

He added: “The silence of the media in the face of threats has become a regular occurrence for Israeli authorities as they have done in recent weeks in Gaza and the capture of Jerusalem. These acts cannot be seen on their own. demolition of Al Jalaa house, featuring Al Jazeera and other media offices in Gaza.

“Such attempts to prevent journalists from carrying out their international duty and reporting on world events are a crime against journalists.”

Al Jazeera has called on the international media and human rights groups to join and condemn the actions of the Israeli government and call for the release of Givara Budeiri, and all other arrested journalists, to allow them to carry out their work without fear or favor.
