Israel is delivering a jab ‘booster’ as Covid’s disease progresses

Israel is launching its third BioNTech / Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine this week for seniors with pre-existing medical problems, becoming the first country in the world to officially offer the company’s “boost” jab.

The move, which was confirmed by the Ministry of Health on Monday, comes as US and European health officials discuss the importance of strengthening jabs. At the end of last month, The UK contributed for a while on an advocacy campaign since September. Pfizer last week said it would ask directors to approve them. Other countries that rely on the Chinese vaccine have provided encouragement.

Israel has been widely praised for delivering the fastest vaccine in the world after receiving a permanent vaccine from Pfizer for data recovery.

But the prevalence of the disease is is rising sharply in Israel due to the highly volatile Delta. The number of cases has risen to more than 400 per day, just weeks after the onset of illness. However, only 47 of the 4,000 active cases worldwide are thought to be associated with serious illness, while health experts insist that the two-pronged Pfizer vaccine continues to provide strong protection against hospitalization and death.

In a statement last weekend, Pfizer and BioNTech said the third phase “was able to protect the security system against all known species here including Delta”. The companies were still using their new vaccine “which looks at Delta’s complete protein”.

According to Israeli health minister Nitzan Horowitz, encouragement can be given to older people who have a weakened immune system, have their limbs amputated recently, or appear to be at risk.

The Ministry of Health recommends that a third jab be given within four to eight weeks from the second dose of Pfizer, with the approval of a family physician. For other high-risk groups, the ministry also recommended that they be tested for second and third murders, although not necessarily.

“It is not uncommon for drugs to be drug-induced,” “is not exactly the same as what is used in medical studies,” says Dr. Eyal Leshem, a medical specialist at Sheba Medical Center.

Under the Israeli vaccine, which began in December, more than 5m of 9m citizens in the country were infected with two antiretroviral drugs that spread within three weeks. Health officials have recently launched a program to vaccinate young people, and nearly 200,000 people over the age of 12 have received jabs for the first time in the last two weeks.

After that full opening With its limited resources and the lifting of all Covid bans last month, Israel began to recoup new shortcomings, including ordering masks at home meetings and public transportation. Additional measures, such as the exclusion of those who travel and the testing of children more, are expected to be announced. Israel could re-introduce the “green way”, which allows for greater freedom for vaccinated people.

“[Booster shots for at-risk populations are] more important than just taking 20-year-olds, ”said Leshem. “It makes sense that you can save a lot of lives with this.”
