UK police have arrested two men for kidnapping people arrested at a synagogue in Texas | Gun Violence Issues
The arrest comes when a voice is heard ringing the last phone call to his brother, which indicates he wants to die.
British police have arrested two people in connection with the incident taking slaves at a synagogue in Texas.
Counter Terrorism Police North West police say a man was arrested Thursday in Birmingham, central England, and another in the northern city of Manchester. They are being held for questioning and have not been charged.
The military says it will continue to assist US officials in their investigation into Saturday’s incident. Malik Faisal Akram, a 44-year-old British citizen, arrested four people in a Texas synagogue in a 10-hour altercation that ended in his death. All four detainees were unharmed.
Police did not say much about the two men arrested Thursday. The British police will not release the names and details of the detainees until they have been charged.
On Sunday, police arrested British teenagers in Manchester as part of an investigation. He was later released without charge.
In a phone call between Akram and his brother Gulbar during the siege, the attacker said he wanted to die in the incident. The 11-minute song was obtained by the Jewish Chronicle through a “security source”, reporters said. Gulbar speaks from a police station in Blackburn.
Akram was from Blackburn, an industrial city in the northwest of England. His family said he was “suffering from a mental illness”.
Akram entered the US on a tourist visa about two weeks ago and spent a lot of time in the Dallas area in an uninhabited area of Beth Israel, Colleyville.
The FBI has called this a “terrorist attack” targeting a Jewish group.
British journalists, including the Guardian and the BBC, have reported this Akram was investigated and intelligence agency MI5 as a “terrorist threat” in 2020, but officials confirmed there was no danger, and the investigation was closed.
The White House said Tuesday that Akram was investigated against US security forces before entering the country but did not raise red flags.
