This week, Jeff Bezos flew in the air. Or, high enough to be able to count. While his 10-minute excitement in the Blue Origin rocket is designed primarily to impress his space company, the former Amazon boss also has big ambitions. He wants to establish a new era of local government, with the ultimate goal of creating a new home for people in the universe.
Clearly, being the richest person in the world and a former leader of the world’s largest retail industry means that he has contributed to some of the world’s biggest problems. But Bezos seems to believe that in order to save the Earth, we must give it up.
This week at Gadget Lab, WIRED editor-in-chief Steven Levy joins us to discuss Jeff Bezos’ big day and its significance for the future of humanity.
