As of 2022, Universal movies have been available on Peacock first instead of HBO. Universal has not yet released a list of other colleagues, and it is unknown whether HBO is one of them. Variety says that based on the TV distribution schedule, Universal hopes to avoid overcrowding or making its movies look like a temporary setback. Whether this move will bring in interest for Peacock subscribers remains unclear.
