UK is said to have recorded 106,000 cases of coronavirus

UK Wednesday also reported 106,000 cases of coronavirus, with Boris Johnson being forced to say whether he could impose new Covid-19 restrictions on England after Christmas.

Some business leaders called on the Prime Minister to clarify the situation after the divided governments in Belfast, Cardiff and Edinburgh described the coronavirus measures that will take place after Christmas.

It came as a new study in England and Scotland found that people with Omicron coronavirus were less likely to seek medical attention than those with Delta. His findings are consistent research from South Africa, where Omicron was first identified.

The UK recorded 106,122 cases of Covid-19 in a recent 24-hour period, up to 35 percent compared to the same day last week, indicating Omicron’s rapid spread. However, growth appears to have slowed down, declining from December 16 above about 75 percent weekly.

Wales Government Wednesday he announced for groups of no more than six people to meet in pubs from December 26, and for a 2-meter re-launch.

The Northern Ireland government has said the nightclub has been closed since December 26, and has warned residents to stay away from home and three families from December 27.

This comes after the Scottish government announced Tuesday banning public meetings from December 26.

UK officials say any restrictions on England will not be announced by Johnson until early next week.

The Prime Minister said Tuesday there are no additional ways to start before Christmas Several members of his cabinet have opposed the new sanctions, including Chancellor Rishi Sunak.

One Whitehall official said the government could offer new guidelines instead of banning legal restrictions if needed, recognizing the difficulties that could arise in commemorating parliament before the new year.

Johnson volunteered to vote for councilors on any restrictions, and the official added: “If we announce a bank holiday like Boxing Day, because it takes two or three days to commemorate Parliament, we would have a hard time seeing. The rules start before the new year.”

But one psychiatrist Johnson said Number 10 had not yet considered whether further sanctions would be necessary. “The PM has not reviewed the decision… There is not enough data to confirm other restrictions,” he added.

Roger Barker, chief of policy at the Institute of Directors, said business leaders “long for certainty”.

“That is why we are looking for the Prime Minister to explain what has been said if further sanctions are imposed following Christmas,” he added.

Sir Keir Starmer, head of Labor, expressed concern that four UK countries were not complying with the ban.

In the meantime, a new study from Imperial College London found that Omicron patients were 25 to 30 percent more likely to be hospitalized than those with Delta.

Another study from the University of Edinburgh found that people with the Omicron virus were 68 times less likely to be hospitalized than those with Delta.

Professor Neil Ferguson, a UK government science adviser who led the Imperial study, said the study also showed that Omicron was 11 percent less likely to be hospitalized with an immune system, meaning that diversity could be more serious.

He said the findings were “very good news” but stressed that the lack of maturity “does not change the model concept” given to ministers.

According to the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergency, the number of daily hospitals in England could rise to 3,000 by February under a ban by the ministers called Plan B.

Ferguson said “some reduction in severity but not significant decrease” meant that there was no “possibility” of “obtaining medical statistics that would make the NHS difficult”.

In London, the UK region most affected by Omicron, daily hospital admissions rose to 301 on December 20, the highest rate since February 7. Weekly hospitals rise by 45 percent across the UK capital.
