A British diplomat has pleaded not guilty to preparing young girls for rape by a wealthy Jeffrey Epstein.
After days of deliberation, judges in the United States found that Ghislaine Maxwell was guilty of helping Jeffrey Epstein, a moneylender, to have sex with teenage girls.
Judges dala for a full five days before finding Maxwell guilty in five of the six cases Wednesday.
The verdict was reduced one-month trial Stories of rape of 14-year-old girls and four women who reported being abused as teenagers in the 1990s and early 2000s at Epstein’s homes in Florida, New York and New Mexico.
The security asserted that Maxwell was a victim of retaliation because Epstein had committed suicide while awaiting trial in 2019.
Gabriel Elizondo of Al Jazeera, from New York, said Maxwell could face up to 65 years in prison.
