The feature will be the “best kind” of available content and will allow users to search the entire DM history, not the most recent messages. The company is also working to research the content of the information, rather than just sending it. This comes “at the end of this year.”
This may sound like a small change, but the inability to carefully search for specific messages has become a problem for anyone who uses them extensively. Trying to get a message for months or years was difficult unless you were willing to continue your conversation to find it. But with the new search bar, searching for Twitter DMs will hopefully be like any other subscription program.
