Three are in hospital after police set fire to protesters in Dutch COVID-19 By Reuters

THE HAGUE (Reuters) – Three people were treated at a Rotterdam hospital on Saturday after being seriously injured when Dutch police opened fire on a protest rally against COVID-19, authorities said.

“The right to protest is very important in our community but what we saw last night was just criminal,” Grapperhaus said.

Protesters rallied to protest the government’s crackdown on dissent, saying they had either been vaccinated or recovered.

In a number of towns in the Netherlands on Saturday evening a series of riots broke out when youths attacked police.

There were more police officers in other major cities after calling for a riot after the Rotterdam riots, but all other violence erupted, and fewer people were arrested, Dutch media reported.
