The US and China have agreed to reduce climate change over the next decade

The US and China are at loggerheads in many ways, but climate change may not be one of them. The Washington Post reports the two countries have provided security for COP26 reducing global warming by 2020s. Both countries will recognize the difference between what is happening here and the Paris agreement to keep the temperature below 2C, and not more than 1.5C.

The exact wording was not immediately available for comment, but US Secretary of State John Kerry said China was committed to reducing methane emissions and using coal “as quickly as possible.” China, however, would not participate in the US-Europe component of methane emissions by one-third before 2030.

Whether this means taking action or not is not clear. Another has tried to take action promoting electric vehicles and reducing coal dependence, but it is one of the main contributors to emissions and has not reduced its harmful emissions. There has not been much in COP26, with President Xi Jinping refusing to appear when US President Joe Biden was delighted to attend.

The US also has no problems. As Biden’s management promised reducing greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2030 and promoting the establishment of the EV, there is no guarantee that he will be able to enact the necessary legislation to honor his part of the promise. I just think the next White House does not modify old experiments on the environment.

It was not uncommon to see US and China agree on climate change issues, however, the existence of this promise represents China’s progress. The country has not previously acknowledged how methane affects global warming, e.g. This shows that China is aware of the growing problem, even though it has taken a long time to resolve it.
