The Lego set of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ arrives January 1st

Lego sanathe dig into your nostalgia video games. After about a year work, company revealed that its Sonic the Hedgehog The Green Hill Zone set is available on the Internet and in Lego stores on January 1, 2022 for $ 70 (£ 60). Fun bricks for the game’s well-known site include minifigs for Sonic, Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik), two opponents is Phantom Ruby. Sonic can’t walk around the loops, unfortunately, but there is a Technic lever to start him (or other characters) along with the rings and power you can expect.

This set is the final adaptation of Sonic fan Viv Grannell’s submission to the Lego Ideas platform. Their idea raised the required 10,000 votes to be considered as a real set. Lego became operational in February.

You probably won’t see many sets of Lego movie games anytime soon. Sonic and Mario are two of the most well-known franchises – some related to the Lego Ideas game The Story of Zelda, Metroid and the former did not reach nearly 10,000 votes. This shows the power of population growth, however, and is good news for kids who grew up with Genesis (or Mega Drive) in the living room.
