Many were killed as Myanmar troops clashed with people in the delta | Stories in Myanmar

Officials say fighting in the village of Ayeyarwady has left three people dead, with local journalists claiming that up to 20 people have been killed.

Clashes between Myanmar security forces and rural people carrying strokes and barricades in the Ayeyarwady River area have left at least three people dead, state journalists say – although local journalists say at least 20 people have been killed.

State television reports say three “terrorists” have been killed and two arrested on Saturday in Hlayswe village as security forces go to arrest a man accused of plotting to overthrow the government.

A military spokesman did not respond to a request from Reuters news agency for comment on the violence in the village of Kyonpyaw in Ayeyarwady. Reuters was unable to confirm the payment on its own.

Myanmar is in turmoil and its economy has deteriorated since the military overthrew Aung San Suu Kyi in February, citing unpredictable fraud in the 2020 elections.

Violence erupted before Saturday’s halt in Hlayswe, about 150km (100 miles) northwest of the capital Yangon, when security forces said they had returned to search for weapons, at least four journalists and a resident said.

“People in the village have only intersections and there are a lot of injuries on the part of the people,” said the citizen, who asked not to be identified for fear of being born.

Khit Thit Media and Delta News Agency say 20 people have been killed and seriously injured. He said villagers had tried to fight corruption while the military was harassing people.

MRTV reported that security guards were harassed by rifle butts and ammunition. After the shooting, the bodies of three attackers were found, he said.

If confirmed, the fees charged by local journalists will be best one day for about two months.

Local ‘soldiers’

About 845 people have already been killed by the military and police since the government formed the government in February, according to a violent group. The military opposes the figure.

Several areas in Myanmar – especially in the towns that have been killed by police during the protests – have created “security” in the area.

But they are often small and insignificant in the war against the Myanmar military – one of the strongest and most brutal in Southeast Asia.

Since the overthrow of the government, tensions have been building up on the frontiers where nearly a dozen militias have been fighting the government for years.

The Shwegu militia group attacked police north of Shwegu at the end of Friday along with the Kachin Independence Army (KIA).

Reuters was unable to reach KIA for comment.

In eastern Myanmar, the MBPDF (Mobye People’s Defense Force) said it met with troops on Friday and four “terrorist soldiers” were killed.

Despite the unrest, Myanmar’s military did not show any signs of compliance with the demands of the opposition.

This week, the military received its first foreign guests – the leader of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the two ASEAN agents.

Demonstrators in Myanmar’s second-largest city, Mandalay, burned the ASEAN flag on Saturday and criticized the group for its military prowess.
