The hackers launched the crackdown on Friday, hitting at least 200 companies, according to cyber security investigators.
In what seems to be a very dangerous situation, hackers have persuaded Kaseya, an IT software vendor, to distribute the ransom to executives who use their technology, as well as to their clients.
Cyber security team Huntress Labs characters threats from REvil, a well-known Russian-based law firm that the FBI said had taken place recently crippled anti-cattle producer JBS.
The show is the latest example of a scam that uses IT technology to destroy victims, crushing just one person. Last year, it was reported that Russian-subsidized Russians had hijacked a group of SolarWinds IT software to participate in the emails of US offices, for example.
Late Friday, Kaseya to compare that about 40 of its 36,000 actual customers were affected by the threats. It encourages users of the “VSA server” tool, which provides remote monitoring and feasibility, to shut up at the same time.
“We hope we have identified the source of the risk and are planning the district to reduce the number of our customers who will be tested positive,” the company added.
Meanwhile, Huntress said three of the service providers she worked with were disrupted, leading to nearly 200 businesses being harassed – with the data being held by fraudsters and only released as a ransom.
Huntress says she is aware of at least eight people who are disrupting the clouds, and suggest that the number of those being rescued from the tree could be enormous.
Allan Liska of Recorded Future’s cyber security response team said corporate-controlled corporate clients are a small number of companies that need IT support. But the protests highlight the dangers of relying on other pregnant people, he said.
“We have always relied heavily on the fact that if something happened to them, it would be dangerous for your organization without your fault,” he said.
Mu warning, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said it was “taking steps to understand and address the most recent marketing threats”.
The campaign is the latest in a series of bold redemptive cases this year, in addition to the American’s Colonial Pipeline, which has brought promises from the Biden administration to crack down on offenders.
At a Geneva conference last month, President Joe Biden urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to reinstate rescuers, many of whom he believes do not work in the country.
