Recent COP26 Updates: Glasgow Conference hears from ministers on climate change

The dividing lines that have been behind the talks on UN climate talks will have the opportunity to be unveiled on Saturday in the afternoon session.

This allows ministers from many countries to speak on behalf of their countries on the weaknesses and support they have at the various stages of the treaty.

The final session on Friday was marked by applause and silence from ministers from around the world.

The intriguing and personal remarks of her granddaughter caused the green EU envoy Frans Timmermans to respond loudly, while promises from Canada and Norway were also warmly received.

Exciting voices from small islands and vulnerable countries, such as Kenya, Papua New Guinea, Marshall Island and Tuvalu, clapped loudly.

The response to Saudi Arabia and Russia’s voice has been largely abandoned, as oil-dependent countries are seen as a barrier to various issues, including visibility in their gas emissions.

Delegates are waiting to see how long it will last as the talks continue over the weekend, with their ministers briefing the delegates on the agenda.
