Polish officials have accused Belarus of trying to provoke conflict at its common border, while a large group of refugees are trying to force them to leave Poland from their eastern neighbors.

Poland’s Security Ministry on Monday shared aerial photos of migrants in Belarus’s border area near the Polish city of Kuznica, after radio broadcasts appeared to show hundreds of migrants to Poland. The interior ministry later said that attempts to enter the country had failed.

“Obviously [Belarusian] “The government is not stopping their aggression, and it is getting worse,” Poland’s deputy foreign minister, Piotr Wawrzyk, told state radio.

The interior ministry of neighboring Lithuania said its country was considering emergencies in its territory with Belarus after watching developments on the Polish border. Agne Bilotaite said “very difficult” meant that the Baltic state was “very sensitive”.

Warnings from Polish and Lithuanian officials come after attempts to enter the two countries illegally from Belarus. The The EU says this is being addressed is a dictator of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in return for Brussels’ support to the Belarussian opposition.

Lukashenko was on the verge of being overthrown by street protests against his election last year before the election. breaking on non-compliance with protected aid from Russia.

Since the summer, thousands of refugees from countries such as Iraq, Syria and Somalia have flown to the Belarus capital Minsk, before heading to the country’s border with the EU.

According to Polish border guards, there have been 28,500 attempts to enter the country illegally through Belarus since early August, including 17,300 last month.

In recent days, Poland has again blamed Belarus for a number of other border issues, including one case of three Belarusian armed and uniformed men seen inside the Polish territory.

Belarus said at the time it did not resent the border incident. It confirmed Monday that a “large group of refugees” was heading to Poland but said Warsaw was responsible for “deporting thousands of people” who had been deported to Belarus.

It added: “The mistreatment of the refugees was provoked by the indifference and brutality of the Polish government officials.

Russia seemed to approve of what Belarus was doing. “We have no doubt here that the immigration services in Belarus are taking all the necessary steps to make things worse,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, according to Interfax.

Since the influx of migrants along its eastern border this summer, Poland has sent 12,000 troops strengthen border security, reported the accident at the border and installed barbed wire fences.

However, Warsaw has been there rebuke by issuing laws that human rights organizations say allow border guards to push out migrants to Belarus, leaving them trapped in the jungles between the Polish-Belarusian border forces.

Nevertheless, the number of immigrants who are able to do so has steadily increased. In Germany, police said last week that there had been more than 8,400 “illegal entries” this year by people who came through Belarus.

“This is a return to Poland [support for the Belarusian opposition], but this is also a direct route to Germany, ”said the EU ambassador.
