Peacock’s ‘Bel-Air’ also compares the original story of Fresh Prince in the first trailer.

Bel-Air, Peacock’s modern translation of New Bel-Air Prince, begins February 13, The publisher announced Monday and shared the first trailer. The work was inspired by filmmaker and director Morgan Cooper who was released in 2019. All of Cooper’s creations and Peacock series are based on the origin of The New Prince, using Will’s journey from West Philidelphia to Bel-Air to tell the story of the second chance, race and class. Will Smith’s Westbrook Studios created the series, Cooper works as a director, co-author and executive producer. Told Smith in 2019 the idea of Bel-Air came to him driving under Interstate 71. He was thinking of the first show when he drove down and inspired a hit. “I knew I had something to say,” he said at the time.

Peacock will release the first three episodes of Bel-Air at the Super Bowl on Sunday, with subsequent episodes each week. The game is supposed to take place for two seasons.
