Geico filed a complaint at the California office for tampering with data, acknowledging that fraudsters had stolen customer service license numbers from their Web site. In the label, it is found by Products, American car insurance titanium said from January 21 to March 1 this year, perpetrators infiltrated its page using what their customers found elsewhere. He then obtained a driver’s license through an online trading system.
The company did not say how many people received the certificates. As Products records, however, the California office at the AG requires agencies to file data breaches where at least 500 people have been affected by security. Geico says he has reason to believe that fraudsters can use their father’s demands to get a job in their name. Authorities often require a government ID, such as a driver’s license, to register unemployment – which means that stolen names and foreign addresses may not be enough.
Geico explained that it has protected the website and is working to determine the cause of the problem as soon as it becomes aware of the issue. However, it did not reveal what the cause was. It stated in a notice that sends the affected customers: “If you receive any mail from your state agency / service department, please check carefully and contact the agency / department if there is any chance of fraud.” The company is also giving concerned customers one year to register with IdentityForce to protect themselves from theft.
