JMGO’s O1 is an amazingly cost-effective project

Short-term projects save you the hassle of finding a place somewhere in the middle of a room, which is great for smaller rooms like mine. The machines come at a price, however, with good models starting at around $ 2,800 as we’ve seen our most recent project. Xiaomi’s My Laser project it’s a little cheaper and sub- $ 2,000 price list, but the upcoming Chinese brand and JMGO seeks to significantly reduce the entry barrier to recent projects. It launches in two versions: $ 699 O1 and $ 859 O1 pro, the latter “connected” with Leica.

Luckily you have never heard of JMGO, but it has been around for 10 years and is said to be one of the most advanced in China. It’s hard to miss such projects near the shops here in Hong Kong, at least. Since this is the first time Engadget has tested the JMGO tool, however, since both models are developing worldwide through Indiegogo, we have borrowed a Chinese version of the O1 in the future to see if it will work.

The O1 is an Android-powered projector, with an LED light source and not the type of laser light you can find on expensive machines. With a loss of 0.25: 1, it creates the size of a curtain with 80 inches when placed 10 inches from the wall. You can push this up to a 100-inch window by adding a wall 14-inch height, or descending to a 65-inch low-key window with a 5.5-inch distance.

The project has a resolution of 1080p, as well as a resolution of 120% NTSC gamut, 800 ANSI lumen brightness and 5,000: 1 aspect ratio. While this is far from the brightest project on the market, the O1 still has a good eye protection feature, which only loses the image of a person or animal found inside the image, if they can look directly at the light switch.

While some specs are nowhere as impressive as their O1 laser counterparts, LED brings long-term benefits – 45,000 hours here instead, say, 20,000 hours of Xiaomi. Looking at the car and fixing the car stone is available, and you can adjust manually if needed. There is also a wall counting interface to help with accuracy.

At the back are two HDMI socks, two USB ports, a LAN port and a voice cable. For those who care about specs, the O1 has a Quad-core, 4K MediaTek MT9669 processor plus 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. As you can imagine, you also get WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. The latter are mainly remote controls, and are also useful if you just want to blast music from 7W Dynaudio speakers.

For download and display, iPhones can use AirPlay, but Androids must use a third-party app called EShare. It is unclear if JMGO can add Google Cast support in the future, so for now, I need to install the Chromecast dongle.

Removing the shiny O1 in his box, I was amazed at how light I felt – 2.3 pounds (about five pounds) is meaningless compared to most projects. I was able to set up the device within a few minutes and connect to my WiFi network, followed by connecting to remote Bluetooth controls.

When I opened O1, I was greeted by Luna OS ‘home screen “message board”. This is a great tool for staying on top of the music tool, the weather tool and the voice support tool (these will be Amazon Alexa in global firmware). These modules stand in front of the black front, and the darker shades fit well on my wall, especially when the room is very dark.

From the home screen, you can adjust the recorder that provides a variety of screens to accompany music, if available. The left scrolling moves you toward the artwork, which makes the wall a well-painted picture. I can see them coming right up to your house party (if you can remember how they are).

Depending on the type of photos, you can think from the things you should download that you expect: This is not a $ 3,000 project. But on the other hand, the show is the best on the $ 699 device, not the only light.

If I had a nitpick for a while, the colors fill up a bit, which is probably a result of less energy. But I found the picture to be very good at watching normal movies. I also struggled to adjust the stone to work on the right-hand side of the display, as you can see in the picture above. This tends to happen if my estimate is 55 inches above the wall, and it is possible that the shape is not smooth enough for the function to work properly. It’s easy to fix this manually, anyway. Maybe one day I’ll buy myself a visual shot myself.

The most amazing thing was the functionality. Dynaudio stereo speakers produced clear vocals with enough bass, so I could see myself using the O1 of the background music my friends were visiting – the music viewer on the wall was something they could discuss, perhaps.

JMGO O1 and O1 Pro

JMGO

Although I have not tried the J1GO’s large and heavy O1 Pro (pictured half the image above), it is worth noting the difference. With the help of a leading company called Leica, the machine offers a good display of 0.21: 1, over 1,250 ANSI light, low resolution (less than 0.5% instead of 1%) 6,000: 1. Apparently, Leica was also with different words, color reproduction, sharpening, noise reduction and much more, which is why it can be interesting to compare the color of the images between this and O1, especially because of the cheaper color.

The O1 Pro also comes with 10W Dynaudio’s most powerful speakers in high volume, which is supposed to make more videos. You will also find some “AI cameras” on the following devices: the front camera is hand-held with light adjustment, while the rear camera is suitable for parking when using the negligible device.

One of the things that surprised me here was JMGO’s idea of setting up two low-cost projects with a “bus” price difference of $ 160, which is probably why many contributors to opting have opted for the O1 Pro instead. For me, having already seen what the O1 is capable of, if you want to buy one of the projectors then the O1 Pro is the one that is not worth knowing at this price. That is, unless you have the requirements for the growth of the machine, or you may not just wait an extra month for the Pro to install. (O1 is scheduled to be shipped in August, while O1 Pro will not arrive until September.) In any case, I have been impressed with JMGO’s achievements at such a low price. We hope it encourages other nations to play.
